Back to the Fundamentals: Off Season Training
While skiing is a winter sports, the summer is the most important time for a ski racer, as it is the time when we go back to fundamentals, to fine tuning and to building skills for the winter without the stress of racing. This is especially important for FIS athletes, as during the winter the pace of racing takes most of the time and refining techniques takes his time too.
Since the progression is very important, particularly during the summer season, we only offer medium to long periods (3 weeks at least is recommended). The longer periods also help foster friendship among athletes and allows for a more significant cultural experience for the foreign athletes who get to live a full-immersion experience alongside Italian peers. Athletes-coaches ratio is low to maximize personalized attention.
The Alp.s programs are result of years of experience and of the collaboration between the former Alta Badia Ski Academy and GB World in Aprica (Bormio), as well as from decades of training and racing across continents: Europe, North America, and Latin America. Our training venues rotates to maximize quality and improvements. We typically train at Stelvio, Val Senales, Austria, Les Deux Alpes, and indoor and then when conditions allow Livigno, Dobbiaco, Alta Badia, Aprica, Bormio, and Cortina. Training on snow alternates with dry training.
Our camps are not a commercial endeavor and our goals and choices are exclusively in the athlete's interest. Small numbers and continuity are essential for success so the camps are primarily directed to our Ski Academy athletes and to prospective athletes interested in trying out with us. The camps are for FIS racers. Highly skilled and mature U16 racers may be admired on an individual bases, subject to space availability.
